Portugal is usually known for it's sunny weather and nice people, not so much for it's music industry.
Rec`n`Roll Studio was built in 1993 to give portuguese rock bands a decent place to record with medium quality equipment, at a reasonable price. At the time our goal was to reduce the quality gap between national and foreign productions. And we did it. Rec`n`Roll gave a major contribution to the ascendance of the portuguese rock scene.
From the original studio nothing was left except one thing - we believe that musicians and their art are the most important things in a music recording studio. Why? Because we are musicians too!
And musicians often have a problem - budget. And this makes another problem - less studio time, recording under a lot of pressure...bad sounding albums.
Of course they can spend more time recording in a "not so professional studio" and put their hard work in the hands of a "less than professional" sound engineer...normally this means another bad sounding album.
However, we strongly believe that it´s possible to make professional sounding albums and keep the costs under control. That's why this studio got bigger...but not too big!
Today, Rec`n`Roll is a very well equipped recording studio. It's not one of those world-class studios with very exotic and expensive pieces of equipment and luxurious big rooms. It's a balanced mix of a comfortable place to work in with a careful selection of great audio tools. We have a 2" 24 track otari analogue tape machine and digidesign pro tools, which are today`s worldwide top standards. This means that we can change projects with any professional studio in the world.
But the most important thing is the way we'll deal with your work...with care.
take care...
